Danbury Real Estate Guide

Danbury, Connecticut is located in the upper Fairfield county and borders New Fairfield, Brookfield, Bethel, Redding and Ridgefield as well as Putnam County, New York. Danbury is sometimes known as hat city due to its history in the hat industry and also for the Danbury State Fair which later became the site of the Danbury Fair Mall.

Danbury also has access to Candlewood Lake where you can swim, boat and have fun on the beach.  Western  Connecticut State University makes it home in Danbury with two campuses. The midtown campus is the main location and is near the downtown area of Danbury.  The westside campus is home to the Business School, the new Arts building and hosts many public functions throughout the year.  There is also a branch of Naugatuck Valley Community College located in downtown Danbury.  In the fall of 2015 they are planning on opening a full satellite branch in the downtown area. Danbury is governed by a Mayor who is currently Mark Boughton.  There are currently 14 elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school. There are quite a few private and parochial school located in Danbury.
